Concept

Roadways

Golden Quadrilateral: six-lane super highways linking Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai.
North–South corridor: Srinagar to Kanyakumari. East–West corridor: Silchar (Assam) to Porbandar (Gujarat).
Road types: national highways, state highways, district roads, other (rural) roads, border roads (Border Roads Organisation, set up in 1960), international highways.
